#SEPHORASQUAD 2023
I can’t believe this time of year has come again so fast!
In 2022, I first learned out about Sephora Squad via FOHR in their last reminder to apply to be a part of Sephora’s Content Creation Community. In addition to my application, I learned that I would have to ask my social media friends for testimonials (think of it as asking your friends for a recommendation for your DREAM job!). I was TERRIFIED to say the least. I posted it on my social anyway.
While the thought of my application being among THOUSANDS of other applicants, was intimidating, nothing felt more vulnerable than asking my internet audience for their help to put me on Sephora’s radar to be considered for a spot on the Squad. A few hours after my post, my first testimonial (tag) went up, then a few more after more hours etc.
Although I wasn’t chosen to be a part of the squad in 2022. I learned some very value lessons about myself and my community.
1. Even though we are small, we are strong.
2. The support and encouragement I received was more than anything I could have asked for and I appreciate everyone so much for that!.
3. You miss 100% of the shots you do not take.
Prior to applying to Sephora Squad, I was posting as a hobby / passion project. But something about filling out and submitting that application fueled something in me that made me want to turn my passion into my purpose. I re-discovered myself in the beauty space and became so motivated to build an even bigger community of like-minded beauty, skincare and minimalist living enthusiast were shared the same passions.
While Sephora is known for the incredible makeup brands it carries, they also have an incredible range of skincare that I would LOVE to help highlight if given a chance to be became a part of the Squad. I love Sephora’s constant reminder that beauty comes in all shapes, ethnicities, religions and more, and that is a brand that I would certainly align myself with always.
